Tyson’s 21 years in the Oregon wine industry provides us with a wonder-
ful network of friends and growers. We work exclusively with sustainably and dry- farmed, family owned vineyards and have a close working relationship with all our growers. Together we grow balanced fruit that requires minimal intervention in the winery. Plans are also in the works for an Estate vineyard. Stay tuned.
Four Winds Vineyard
Four Winds Vineyard is the source for our stunning Chardonnay and some of our best Pinot! The site sits at 800 ft in the McMinnville Coast range resulting in lean and striking Chardonnay and intense, focused Pinot Noir. The vines are own-rooted and planted to the nation’s first Chardonnay clone known as “Wente” as well as Oregon's classic Pommard Pinot Noir. Ripening tends to be later which means the fruit retains acidity and develops mature flavor character. We're still discovering the greatness of this site but each bottling thus far has impressed not only us, but the industry and critics alike. The vineyard is owned and managed by Julie Donnelly and Jon Steinhardt.
Gehrts Vineyard shares a fence line with the acclaimed Domaine Drouhin Oregon estate in what we like to call the “Grand Cru” district of the Dundee Hills. Farmed and managed by our friends Richard and Nancy Gehrts (also chef/owners of the delightful Red Hills Provincial Dinning), Tyson’s started working with the vineyard as it was being planted first at Cameron and then as one of Crowley Wine’s single vineyard sites. We have the privilege of receiving the amazing fruit every year, and have witnessed the evolution of this spectacular site as it has gained its pedigree and prominence as a magical vineyard.
La Colina Vineyard
LaColina was the very first vineyard we worked with in 2005 and we proudly continue to grow our holdings within this beautiful, bowl-shaped, southern Dundee Hills site. In addition to being a sentimental favorite, LaColina has quietly become a cornerstone vineyard for the winery as it continues to deliver exceptional fruit for both our blended bottlings and a single vineyard bottling. The vineyard is farmed and managed by our friend George Hillberry.
Long ago while unloading Tuckwilla Vineyard fruit for Erath, Tyson remembers day dreaming about making his own wine from this lovely site. The dream became a reality in 2007 when we picked up an acre of 15 year-old Pommard from Tuckwilla owners and farmers Kathy and Lee Miller. We have since expanded our holdings within this site situated just below the Eyrie Vineyards in the Dundee Hills. Each year the vineyard delivers graceful and classic Pinot noir.
